Roads and Utilities are in.
The way has been paved for construction of new homes to begin at Bay Club at Falcon Point Coastal Ranch. The beautiful central thoroughfare, finished off with rolled curbs, has been completed and now affords easy access to all 108 lots of this coastal community. Utilities have been installed and existing telephone and electric poles leading to The Lodge are coming down to be replaced with an underground system, enhancing the natural beauty of this unique environment. Construction on the lake system is complete and is only waiting on a gift of rain from Mother Nature to fill it up. The lake was designed with the assistance of biologists to ensure the shape, depth, soil content and other factors would increase the opportunity to sustain aquatic life. Underwater structures and natural plantings will provide food and shelter for wildlife in this natural habitat that is sure to become a beautiful asset for Bay Club residents. New landscaping projects are also underway, including the one-mile Bayside Walkway. Indigenous flora, such as mesquite and oak trees along with colorful Texas wildflowers are being planted throughout the community. This is an exciting time at Bay Club. If you haven’t seen all the changes, we encourage you to visit soon.
Fewer Than 40 Lots Remain.
Here’s the latest news on coastal home sites from Steve Dyer, head of the new sales team at Bay Club. Steve is associated with Kuper Sotheby’s, known for marketing some of the finest offerings in Texas. “Currently, there are only about a dozen waterfront lots left. The water view sites are also extremely popular because of their expansive view of the bay and lake. Whether you’re looking for a vacation spot to hunt, fish and enjoy a coastal lifestyle with your family or just a fabulous investment opportunity, it’s hard to beat Bay Club. It has been my experience that the folks attracted to this exclusive community are seeking something extraordinary on the Texas Gulf Coast. I urge you to visit us soon because I don’t expect to have a single lot left by Christmas. Call me on my direct line for all the details at 830-377-6091.”

Jones Energy Meeting a blast.
Jones Energy of Houston has discovered that meeting here is the perfect mix of focused work and relaxation. Their main purpose is strategizing the future of their company in the highly competitive oil and gas industry. What they’ve discovered is
our remote environment mixed with the excellent facilities allows them to concentrate their efforts and achieve extraordinary results. They work hard and they play hard, as witnessed by the highly
competitive skeet tournament during their
last meeting.
SSR met with Success
“The leadership event went off without a hitch and the venue was perfect. Everyone was very complimentary of the accommodations, amenities, rooms and the general atmosphere. We will definitely come back and I have already shared my discovery of your lodge with several business associates.” Richard A. Morris, Executive Vice President, Smith Seckman Reid, Inc.

New Arrivals
Every spring and summer, we welcome a bevy of new arrivals at the ranch, many not of the human variety. We’ve been blessed with a record number of Whitetail fawns and other native species. The exotic herds keep growing. New baby Brahma’s can be seen frolicking in the fields. A new Longhorn calf named Blue Bell joined the Falcon Point
family. Feel free to stop by and help us bottle feed the new arrivals. Rita, our resident Black Lab, also became a mom recently. She mated with Willie, who qualified for the National Field Trail Championship, and the pair has produced a litter of future champions. If you’re interested in ownership of one of the pups, just give us a call.
White Tails Flourishing
In 2002, the Whitetail herd at Falcon Point Coastal Ranch numbered in the 40’s with a fawn survival rate at about 13%. Through an aggressive management program that included harvesting over 250 coyotes, increasing protein availability and introducing deer from Webb County in deep South Texas, the herd is now in the 400’s with a fawn survival rate in the high 70’s. Which means you’d be hard pressed to find better deer hunting anywhere in Texas.
Exceptional Exotics
A report from Brent Pierce/Ranch Manager: “The Axis deer are doing very, very well and we have quite a few trophy Axis bucks. The Fallow deer are making a very good comeback. The Sica population is strong. We’re concentrating on improving the numbers of Black Buck by creating more natural corridors for them to move and decreasing the predator pressure on them. In the Super Exotics, our Scimitar-horned Oryx herd has been reproducing very well. The count and size on Eland is exceptional. We’ll be doing some special hunts on Eland this year. That will be a real treat for hunters fortunate enough to participate because the flavor of Eland meat is very, very good because of excellent marbling.”
A new look for the ranch
There are hundreds of ranches in Texas. But only a very few possess the unique attributes found here: 6,000 acre working ranch and natural wildlife preserve situated on the banks of one most beautiful bays on the Gulf Coast. Plus, miles of pristine shoreline and protected wetlands. To reflect the character of this one-of-a-kind destination, we’ve modified our name to Falcon Ranch Coastal Ranch. We feel it more definitively describes who we are and what we offer, including the unique community of Bay Club, the coastal luxury of The Lodge and all the incredible amenities of the ranch.

Hunting/Fishing updates
With the number of opportunities for hunting and fishing that Falcon Point affords, keeping up with it all is darn near impossible. So we’re doing it for you. We’ll be sending you periodic e-mail blasts with detailed info on fishing conditions, teal, duck, dove and deer hunts plus announcements of special exotic hunts. And you can always give us a call at the ranch or log on to our website for up-to-the-minute news and information.
